Rugby Player, Aki Seiuli
Our vision for this shoot was to beautifully capture the harmony between cultural heritage and professional success. We photographed Manu Samoa player Aki Seiuli in traditional Samoan attire, accented with elements of his rugby career—holding a rugby ball, symbolizing his deep connection to the sport. In contrast, when dressed in his rugby uniform, we incorporated Samoan measina - the red ula fala and a fue, both powerful symbols of Samoan culture. This intentional fusion of elements reflected a powerful message: Aki does not have to choose between his cultural identity and his career—they are seamlessly intertwined. Both aspects coexist, shaping who he is, proving that success and heritage can thrive together as one.
Ata Mai Creative has been showcased in projects on the Miss Samoa NZ 23-24 stage.
The inaugural project with Seira Ale, the First Runner Up of Miss Samoa 23-24, marked the genesis of all Ata Mai Creative endeavors, and it proved to be an immensely fulfilling experience.
Directed by Ata Mai Creative's own Director, Malia, the project involved co-writing an original song dedicated to Seira's late mother, alongside designing and crafting a costume that symbolized Seira's path through grief, adversity, and ultimately, her faith and the healing and restoration that came with it.
